The Hereford Rec Office of Baltimore County Park & Rec makes most of the decisions regarding canceling programs. Here are some guidelines: 1. If Baltimore County Schools (or Hereford Zone schools) are closed, all Rec Council activities are cancelled. 2. M-F cancellations will be posted after 4PM on www.herefordrec.org. 3. For the Saturday KinderClinic games, the Commissioner will make the call at 8AM and contact the coaches with the decision. The coaches will then contact their team. It will also be posted here by 8AM. If a game has already begun and threatening weather appears: 1. Outdoor games are cancelled IMMEDIATELY at the sound of thunder or sight of lightning. 2. The umpire can cancel a game at his/her discretion due to the weather. 3. The coach can cancel a game at his/her discretion due to the weather. See also BCP&R’s Lightning Directive |
